First review of Yezdi Scrambler (Build quality and in general)

Hello people this is Ruturaj Lonkar (currently an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering) , its been 4 days since I have got hands on my new bike (Yezdi Scrambler.)

So, while inspecting the bike I came across various issues that are related to the build quality of the bike that concerns me.

RPM sensor for ABS

The clearance between the RPM sensor and the slotted disc is not uniform for a rotation in my bike (which means the sensor disc might not be flat or mounting issues) , so the sensor hits the disc in some part of rotation which makes a sound while riding. You can clearly see the indentation on the sensor disc in the image given below.

Bolting of the rear fender

The rear fender is mounted on swing arm via bolt (M8 allen head bolt) and it fastened on swing on a jam nut which is spot welded to it. As we ride the bike it under vibrations due to rotary parts and as a result of the vibrations these rear fender bolts get lose as the nuts used do not satisfy the application (Nyloc nut must be used , but they cannot be welded as the nyloc will burn due to heat, so double nut or a spring washer can also be used.)

Due to loosening of bolt it creates rattling sound.

(Lost one of my fender bolt due to the loosening).

Weld quality

While inspecting I found a porous weld on mainframe.

I have not yet gone through all the welds but will surely update once done, but this one was the major one that caught my eye.

Conclusion

In terms of performance the vehicle is amazing and has immense torque. It just brings smile on my face whenever I ride it . But the above are some of the things that make me question the quality control of the vehicle and when you pay such a cost (INR 2.5 Lakhs)  you obviously expect it to be full proof and reliable .But still I am very pleased by the vehicle's design and have high expectations with its working.
